UES Interventional Pain is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and compassionate Remote Medical Assistant to support our clinical and administrative operations. This role is ideal for an organized professional who is comfortable working in a virtual healthcare environment and committed to delivering high-quality patient support.
The Medical Assistant will work closely with providers, clinical staff, and administrative teams to ensure smooth daily operations, accurate documentation, and excellent patient communication. Applicants must be U.S.-based and able to work remotely while maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support (Non-Hands-On / Remote)
* Assist providers with virtual patient workflow and documentation support. * Prepare and update patient charts prior to appointments. * Enter and maintain accurate patient information in electronic medical records (EMR/EHR). * Support telehealth visits by managing intake information and visit readiness. * Assist with follow-up documentation and care coordination as directed by providers.
Patient Communication
* Communicate with patients via phone, email, or secure messaging platforms. * Schedule appointments, follow-ups, and procedures as needed. * Provide patients with basic instructions, reminders, and general information per provider guidelines. * Respond to patient inquiries professionally and in a timely manner.
Administrative Duties
* Manage appointment scheduling, referrals, and prior authorizations when applicable. * Verify patient demographics and insurance information. * Assist with medical forms, documentation requests, and record organization. * Maintain organized digital files and accurate records.
Compliance & Confidentiality
* Adhere to HIPAA and all applicable healthcare privacy regulations. * Maintain confidentiality of patient and company information at all times. * Follow internal policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
Team Collaboration
* Communicate effectively with providers, nurses, billing staff, and office management. * Participate in virtual meetings, training sessions, and workflow updates. * Report issues, discrepancies, or concerns promptly and professionally.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification preferred. * Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a healthcare support role. * Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical documentation. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. * Ability to work independently in a remote environment. * Reliable internet connection and a private, professional workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in pain management, interventional care, or specialty practices. * Prior remote or telehealth experience. * Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare workflows. * Experience with scheduling, insurance verification, or prior authorizations.
