Description
Velosity Forest Lake is searching for a Sr. Metrology Technician to support our manufacturing facility in Forest Lake, MN. A Senior Metrology technician provides in-depth technical and procedural advice for repair, calibration, and modification of a wide variety of complex precision measurement equipment utilized for assigned program.
This is an on-site position.
The typical pay range for this role: $25.75 - $38.62 per hour. This role is also eligible for a 5% quarterly bonus target.
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, internal equity and other relevant factors.

Essential Duties:
- Work cooperatively with all employees
- Calibrate, maintain, and repair a variety of measurement instruments, including dimensional, mechanical, torque, electronic, and in-process instrumentation.
- Ensure correct data entry and maintain records for internal and external ISO certification audits.
- Develop and implement new metrology processes and calibration procedures1.
- Identify and resolve issues with measurement systems and instruments.
- Train and mentor junior technicians and other staff on metrology practices and procedures.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- Associates Degree in related field such as electronics technology, engineering, or a similar discipline.
- Certifications such as ASQ (American Society for Quality) or equivalent are highly desirable.
- 5 years’ experience in metrology-related field.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; effective business correspondence and reporting; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and business operating systems.
- To be able to perform daily tasks safely; To work independently with limited supervision; To be able to solve practical problems and work effectively with customers, vendors and other departments.
- Proficiency in CMM programming, GD&T and basic mechanical aptitude.
